THE PROBLEM
There are a very limited number of plant care apps available. Even less that are reliable. Many plant owners struggle with keeping their plants healthy due to a lack of knowledge about proper care, such as watering schedules, sunlight requirements, and soil conditions. This often leads to plants being overwatered, underwatered, or placed in environments where they cannot thrive. In addition, with different plants having diverse care needs, plant owners often find it difficult to manage and remember the care routines for each species.
BACKGROUND
With the growing popularity of indoor plants, more people are discovering the joy and benefits of nurturing greenery in their homes. However, everyone’s home is different and every plant is too. Since COVID 19 more people than ever are now working from home almost exclusively. Many people struggle to keep plants healthy due to a lack of knowledge about their specific needs. From inconsistent watering to inadequate lighting, even small miss steps can lead to wilting, yellowing, or worse...death. This is where my plant care app steps in—a comprehensive digital solution that empowers plant enthusiasts of all levels to succeed in plant care.
By providing personalised care schedules, reminders, and expert guidance based on each plant's unique requirements, the app makes plant care simple and intuitive. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced plant parent, the app is designed to help you create a thriving indoor garden with ease. By knowing the exact conditions of your home before you buy a plant this will help people to buy a plant that is compatible with their living space. This in turn saves time, money and sadness that is caused by plants dying.
GOALS AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES
To create an application that will help users to take care of their plants in a more efficient way and decrease plant mortality rate. A plant care app that aims to empower users to cultivate healthy, thriving plants by offering easy-to-use tools, such as community access and smart home functionalities and also resources for all skill levels. The app’s goals are to simplify plant care, provide timely reminders, and educate users on specific needs for each plant species, from watering schedules to sunlight requirements. Through features like tailored care schedules, plant identification, and diagnostic support for common issues, users can confidently nurture a variety of plants. The outcome of using the app is healthier plants, increased user knowledge, and a more fulfilling plant care experience, fostering a deeper connection between people and nature while enhancing home and garden environments.
